Hours of sleep: 5
When I wake up I usually start off by either playing a game of tetris or watching me some korean drama. This morning I decided to combine 2 pleasures: the drama during a bubble bath! This was my first time bubble bathing sans seran wrap! I just put a tegaderm over the gauze covering the long incision, everything stayed clean, dry, and intact just like an IV site!

it was like i was at a bubble bath theater watching Boys Before Flowers! |

One of the scenes featured some cookies that look like the kind I'd make! They're supposed to resemble the character (Goo JoonPyo) in the first pic
After 1.5 epi's of BBF, got ready for PT. The session was eventful! We started off with the usual exercises and saved the heel to butt pushing towards the end of it. Before the heel to butt exercise, Kim massaged the knee and scars with cocoa butter. When I first walked in, Kim was like "I have something for you!" She whipped out a little tub of cocoa butter! Last wednesday when she massaged the scars for the first time, I asked her what type of cocoa butter to buy. She mentioned the kind she bought for after she delivered and how she could only find a big tub of it at targhee. But she went out of her way to find a smaller tub for me, so sweet! Then I had to tell her that I went to walgreens and bought a small tub. But she said, "now you have 2!" I was like, "maybe I could use it for after my pregnancy! But it'll probably be expired by then..." During the buttering, I told her about the weird crackling I had been feeling when I attempt to walk without a limp. She said it's still a normal thing to feel since the knee is such an enclosed spot, so things are still deciding where to fall into place within that spot. The crunchy feel is just my smooth patella rubbing against the healing bits and pieces. That was reassuring to hear because everything is still fresh. We proceeded with me laying on my tummy while pulling the rope that's wrapped around my ankle to bring my foot to my butt. After 10 rope pulls by me, Kim ended with 5 long knee bends which hurt like a mother. As she did each one, I could feel my heel get closer to the booty. By the 4th bend, she was like, "if only your butt were a little bit bigger, you'd be touching it with your heel!" I guess hearing that got me real motivated for bend #5. So as she brought my leg back up, I took a very deep breath while gripping the pillow tight (we ain't singing metallica). I could feel sweat starting to develop along my hairline too. After all that preparation, this was the result: |

I did it! And my neighbor was happy for me too!

remember a couple posts ago this was the goal (minus the wedge shoes)? |
Now I know I said once I could touch heel to butt, I could cut down to 2 sessions a week rather than 3, but Kim suggested one more week of 3. ruh row, but I think it would be best because I know for sure I have one more week off from work. Once I start work again, I can cut down to 2. After PT, I walked on the treadmill at the gym. What's funny is that I use the elevator at the gym. I used to be the one to look at the elevator and wonder who would use it. I saw it as an oxymoron. But look who has to use it now! There's just way too many steps to climb with robobrace on. Plus I'd feel pressure from people tailgating me as I'm doing my step one step two, step one step two. As I walked on the treadmill, there was only one thing on my mind...

oh yes, we did. and I didn't plan the purple outfit. Turns out JB's theme color is Poiple! Cooincidence? i think not! |
One day Lis and I admitted to each other that we wanted to see "never say never". So we made a date of it, a 3-D date! This is us with our glasses on attempting Ray Charles pose.

I guess I tried a little too hard |

We got the deal where you get free refills but there was never a dull moment in the movie when one of us could go to get the refills! |
I highly suggest this flick. It was so uplifting and happy. I can honestly say I have Bieber fever. There, I said it. He plays 7 different instruments, plays hockey, b-ball, t-ball, golf, prays, and break dances! And homeboy can sing! I cried like a baby at least twice- when he serenaded a girl on stage, and when his grandparents praised him. Teared up during the swollen vocal cord segment. Me and Lis were chair dancing a bunch of times because there were only 4 of us total in the whole theater (mind you the movie has been out for a while). We were behind the 2 other girls so we just danced it out. Even stayed
after the credits to reflect. The theater workers caught us dancing as they held their brooms and debris collectors. They thought we were crazy but whatevs.
As we left, we got one refill of popcorn and sat on a bench outside of lucky strike just to look like we weren't a drive by popcorning. As I painfully ate more popcorn until the bag was foldable to transport to the car, Lis gave me an iphone tutorial. I seriously felt like a person at the end of a hot dog eating contest as I attempted to devour the popcorn. We both talked about texting techniques and how to punch letters properly. I feel like I need to get a manicure because I usually catch my fingers in the most elegant positions just to punch the right letters/characters. It'll take some practice until I figure out what typing technique to pursue. OMG i have an iphone!
After the movie, headed back home to get ready to celebrate Shar's early dirty 30 at moe's cantina. We had dindin there, then kept the booth we dined in as it transformed from restaurant to dancing bar. We went to the moe's on Kinzie, so much bigger than the one in Wrigleyville (or as Vince would say, "bring it on down to wrigleyville!" in justin timberlake plasticville voice). As usual, had a fun time! They could've played some Bieber songs though. We got excited when we heard Usher because we know he's connected to Justin.

Happy bday Shar! |
Celebrating Shar's bday was a nice way to end the night. I attempted to right leg dance to fun songs. The dance moves ended up as right sided body rolls since lefty was lazy in robobrace. But I also had to remember that I danced a lot during the Bieber movie, so I might've been danced out for the day. Not being able to wear heels really put into perspective how short I am. I miss my heels, I really do. Just makes me feel like I'm on the same level as everyone else. Literally! Anyhoo, the weekend is here now. I'd like to wish a happy bday to my Manong Ansel, dirty 35! That will be celebrated when my dad is back in town in a few weeks!
