happy saturday!

Hours of sleep: 6, woot woot!
woke up this morning and tried to see how far i could bend my leg while laying on my back.  While doing so, I palpated something rather disturbing that i started to discover last night.  I described it to Vince and we named it last night... meet "Dimple Patel(la)" (She's Indian)
see the dimple?

It's right on the edge of my big hematoma, I have a feeling it may be something permanent.  But I'll see it as a beautiful battle scar.  I've always wanted a dimple!  The weather has been disgustamundo, I stayed in bed and decided to update my address book on the mac daddy.  It ended up taking a long time, got kind of annoying but was determined to finish it.  Even though I got the okay to drive, it's so uncomfortable doing it with the big robobrace on.  Driving less than a half mile to PT is bearable.  I got another bill in the mail, it's amazing how much the lil things cost!  lab work, diagnostic tests, anesthesia supplies, pharmacy, venipuncture...ay dios mio!  This knee is expensive!  With that and PT, this is gonna cost an..... WHOLE LEG!  Watched tv while trying to nap it up, but of course that didn't work out.  So I played more tetris.  I broke 100,000!  After my right hand got cramped up, moved on to the leg warmers.  I finally finished them!
flower flair added
Since my wardrobe has consisted of shorts/leg warmers/baggy pants for the past 3 weeks, I decided to try on a pair of jeans.  It was amazing how tight the right leg was and how baggy the left leg was!  My poor right leg has worked so hard compensating for the lack of work lefty has been doin the last couple of weeks.  To get out of the pants, I had to back up out of them by pulling them down and doing the moonwalk out of the leg pants as they stayed on the ground.  The technique was pretty funny.  I have to admit I was so lazy today, but finally got myself to do my exercises early night time.  I tried out the seated bike because someone was on the other bike.  Was able to get up to resistance 8 for about 15 minutes.  Proceeded with floor work to get the hip muscles activated, along with upper body work.  Ended the session with another 15 minutes on the other bike while watching Entertainment tonight, it was their oscar special.  I think lefty enjoyed the workout.  To spice things up, I added a new step.  Literally!  Yesterday at PT we did some steps onto a low platform.  I don't own a platform, but I do have my old nursing textbooks!
I knew my med-surg book would be good for something!

I have to work on putting more weight on the outside of my leg.  Before the surgery, I was so used to the instability on the outside of my leg so I put more weight on the inside of my leg.  I guess I got accustomed to that feeling because Kim noticed my knee go inwards as I took a step up.  Gotta remember that I now have a new and improved knee that can withstand all!  Next week I will be starting treadmill work.  That should be interesting because I'm just now getting comfortable not walking like a horse.  Ended the night keeping Vince awake on the phone as he was road trippin to and fro San Diego.  I think we sang at least 10 different songs in about 1/2 an hour (gotta love mixes).  But if there was a break in music, he'd revert to Mario's "Just a Friend", and "Let me love you", and now I can't get them out of my head!  My voice is kinda hoarse.  Okedokes, I'm calling it a night as I watch da Bulls.  Oh, speaking of da Bulls, caught an episode of the real housewives of Miami before gymin it up and Scottie Pippen's wife is one of the girls!  They have a bunch of kids, but I must say the youngest girl is the cutest of them all.  Let's just say the rest look like Scottie.  Oscars tomorrow, can't wait to see the hairstlyes, dresses, and James Franco!  Anyhoo, cheers to lazy Saturdays!
