POST OP day 4

I slept in the family room of my parents house with my leg in the CPM and woke up super early.  The parents went to church, then came home to pick me up to head back to the city for Sunday brunch at Shaws.  I heart that place, all you can eat everything (oysters, shrimp, and a heavenly dessert room).  Of course we were seated in an area that we had to climb steps to get to.  But I saw it as a physical challenge that became a piece of cake!  Since this was a buffet, i went up with just one crutch so i'd have a free plate hand.  When I went to the omelette/waffle bar, there was a huge bowl of eggs.  So not thinking, I grabbed an egg thinking it was hard boiled.  Had to get my protein on.  Then I noticed how cold it felt and I gave the chefs a look as they looked at each other smiling.  I said, "these aren't hard boiled are they?"  woops.  A man behind me looked at me smiling as if it was common sense that the egg was fresh.  That was my first public sign of loopiness.  Anyhoo, nothing can get in the way of me and food!  not even a physical disability!

we enjoyed our time at Shaws, topping it off with cracker jacks and cotton candy, then headed back to the condo where i let my leg out of the brace to exercise.  I did them sporadically.  Today is 85 degrees on the CPM machine.  Luckily I there would be good night time entertainment- the grammys!

Sharon joined me that night and we watched the first part of it together, including Lady Gaga's performance.  How ironic that she dressed as egg white after I had that egg fiasco in the morning.  Sharon was having some back pain so I taught her how to foam roll it out.  I swear, my room could be it's own PT facility with my exercise ball, foam roller, free weights, mat, and jump rope!

one of these days when i have strength, i'll head up to the 15th floor gym to do some upper body work.  I remember the manager of the gym I work out telling me that he had the same surgery.  He said that working other muscle groups helped release testosterone in the muscles, helping his quads and hamstrings to heal quicker.  He healed in 3 months!  But then again, he's a mixed martial artist...
