POST OP day 5

happy valentines day!  2nd PT was today with kim.  she was happy with the decrease in swelling and drainage from my incision.  i had to tell her about the knob of something behind my knee on the right side.  she thinks it's from when they tried to get the gracilis graft.  she massaged it down which hurt like a mother but i got through it.  i even took 2 norco before the session!  after many minutes of massaging and loosening up of the knee tissue and patella, she goes, "we're going on the bike".  yikes!  we spent 10minutes on there where i basically did most of the work with my right leg to force my left leg to bend up and down.  kim sneaked in a measurement with her protractor ruler thingamajigger...120 degrees was what she caught of knee bendage!  i even made 3 full rotations towards the end.  i think the knee liked it but i was scared that it would get overworked.  we moved on to the table to work on more hamstring exercises with tightening and pressing down the back of the knee.  started some hip exercises to strengthen the outer hip, then rotated onto my tummy.  the quad/bend exercise hurt.  we put a rope over my left foot and i held the other end of the rope with my hands as i pulled it forward.  that caused my knee to bend up.  the most painful part was releasing the rope to straighten my leg back down.  we ended the session with 10minutes of icing as i caught up with the latest people magazine.  i didn't know that along with myself, jessica "don't call me latina" alba, justin timberlake, jennifer hudson, natalie portman, and paris hilton will be celebrating their dirty thirty this year too.
here are the new exercises Kim added to the regime

came home to mom making a nice lunch as dad did last minute things around the condo.  i feel so bad bc his visits home always feel rushed bc he has so much stuff to take care of.  mom dropped dad off at the airport and i got in my machine.  up to 95 degrees today. i got the funniest text from Vince this morning- "try to get 98 degrees, it may be 'the hardest thing you'll ever have to do' tap tap".  after an hour of CPM-ing, Sharon and Karishma came over to chill.  we caught up with the Kardashians, and watched a sweet episode of "i used to be fat" on demand.
we like to watch useless television

just being in the company of people really helps.  i remember this morning i got excited to sit in the lobby and chat with Jerome the doorman as i waited for my ride to PT.  nothing too eventful happened afterwards, just tried to do some more exercises, then went to bed.  I forgot to mention, I had one of the lowest BPs in 2 weeks: 116/68!  I picture texted mom and dad and dad got worried that it was too low, ay dios mio.  one last thing, i finally painted my toes and fingers!

happy valentines day!
